We’ve had an exciting month here at D.L. Newslow & Associates, Inc., and we’re thrilled to share several major milestones, recognition, and contributions from our team. Moments like these remind us why we’re so passionate about advancing food safety education and supporting professionals across the industry.
Bronson Lane Award Recipient
We are incredibly proud to announce that Debby Newslow has been awarded the prestigious Bronson Lane Award, one of the highest honors presented by the Florida Association for Food Protection (FAFP). This award recognizes lifetime achievement in the food safety profession, and for Debby, it carries deep personal meaning.
Bronson Lane was not only a respected leader in the field but also Debby’s friend, mentor, and colleague. She recently shared a favorite memory: Bronson once told her he preferred interviewing people over meals because he learned a lot from whether they reached for the salt before tasting their food. To him, it revealed whether someone made changes without gathering all the evidence first, a lesson that stayed with Debby throughout her career. Receiving an award named after someone she admired so deeply makes this recognition especially meaningful.
Advancing Food Traceability Education
Debby also completed the FSPCA-trained Food Traceability Rule (FTR) Lead Instructor

course, joining a newly developed group of instructors prepared to support the industry in meeting evolving traceability expectations.
A special thank you go to expert trainers Jennifer McEntire and Lisa Weddig, who’s real‑world insight and leadership made the course both practical and impactful. We also want to thank Dawn Johnson and Lynne Hoehle for their tremendous assistance and patience all year long with all the facets of FSPCA courses.
Debby is excited to bring this knowledge (FTR training) forward and help strengthen food safety systems across the supply chain. We are planning a public class in Orlando in late August 2026. Please stay tuned for the final dates and location. A minimum of 1.5 days (12 hours) of instruction is required for this course.
FAFP AEC 2026
Debby and Nancy were in attendance and exhibited at the FAFP Annual Education Conference in Crystal River Fl. If you are not a member – Debby highly recommends membership – it is reasonable and you do not have to be a Florida resident. Next year’s conference will be held adjacent to Disney World - It is always a good time and very educational.
BevTech 2026

We also want to extend our appreciation to Alanna Barfield, who represented D.L. Newslow & Associates, Inc. at BevTech 2026. Alanna’s expertise and professionalism make her an invaluable part of our team, and we’re grateful for the dedication she brings to every project.
